I've been wanting to do one of these for some time now. I rode a sponge for a while and got tons of coverups and figure this may be my best shot at more of the same without going back to the sponge. :-)

The frame is set up on the assembly table using the rocker tab system we pioneered.

I post my images via PHOTOBUCKET so you'll need to click on the image for a larger view.

This board will be a swallowtail and I'll create the full shape of the tail from the full block that I've roughed in. There are other way to do the rough block into swallowtail shape but I like the process of doing the shaping with the rough block attacked to the frame. The frame closest to the tail was positioned so that I can attach the rough tail block directly to the aft face of the last frame and still have room to shape the full swallow tail.

Ok, maybe there's no more PHOTObucket interface?

I had to change my plan for the tail of this board. I've never done a swallowtail shape and with the original tailblock I didn't leave myself enough room between the last frame and the "crack" of the tail....so....I took out the last frame and put in a block that will allow a bit more room for shaping/tapering out the tail. The nose block will have a rabbet for the rails to lay into then the deck strips will overlay the rest of the nose block. Fun build so far....compared to the SUP's I often build, this thing goes together so quickly!

I love the tab system.
If only there was a way to send a .brd file through an app to "attach" tabs; similar to the HBTM.

Yes, the rocker tab system works out quite well.....it just seemed like there had to be a way with bigger assemblies to avoid the rocker table...I had seen something similar that model builders used and it was an easy adaption....Brad Tucker also changed over to a loose tab system that accomplishes the same thing....what's "HBTM"?

...and to clarify "BishopCreek" and "Boardbuilder" are both me....somehow the forum messed up my original account and I couldn't open it so started a new one....then "BishopCreek" somehow came back.....I never really know who I'm going to show us as now!

thanks, Shain.....my design system is so old school I didn't know that acronym.....I've messed with boardcad and AKU in the past and ended up just drawing by hand full scale in more of an abbreviated and lofted method...I should try some of the digital design methods now that I have some templates and profiles that I know work.
