How thin can I go? That is the question. I'm willing to take a bit of a risk to find out.

Is there any way to go laminate veneer only on the bottom deck and fall back on composites to bring back strength? For example, oak laminate under 4oz cloth... With no fishbone inside to support, then 5mm on the deck

I know huck has pushed it by trying fully hollow but he didn't say how thick wood he was using for that - I would guess 6mm? Can we replace some of that with fibre and /or resin?

There are a few of us here that glass the inside of the deck and bottom panels for strength.
