OK, so as near as I can tell, there is NO WAY to post pics from the internet using the picture's URL. You would have to download the pic to your computer, then upload it as an attachment - which is do-able, anyway. That's a bummer but not a deal breaker.

And the good news is, you CAN upload pics from your computer files, as an attachment. The general rule of thumb for posting pictures is to keep the file size smaller, in the kilobytes not megabytes, and even then smaller is better I think, but I'm still learning. Like some pics show in the post, and some remain a link at the bottom of the post, and I'm guessing the smaller ones are more likely to post embedded. I'm going to test this by uploading two picture attachments, one small and one medium sized, and see how they embed.

At any rate, we have the capability to post a build thread, or any thread, with accompanying pictures, so that means the forum is fully capable of sustaining good conversations with photos.

For which I am stoked! Maybe we can get this thing going again.

OK, the picture showing embedded in the post above is 88 kilobytes, the one showing only as a small link above it is 3.28 megabytes, so there's the difference. The bigger file can still be posted and will be accessible by link, if you keep the file size down it will embed in the post using the "Place inline" feature. We are up and running!
